I'm now running a Pentium J4205 system with RetroArch under Ubuntu using DRM/KMS mode. In the end, I decided to move on from the Raspberry Pi due to the low performance preventing the use of the settings you list. I've always had it set to false and haven't seen it cause any negative side effects at all, but that's probably because I just run NES/SNES which is fairly simple to emulate. Personally, I kind of regret that I've never tested the actual effect on input lag from enabling video_threaded. The "dangerous tweaks" should really not be applied without fully understanding what you're doing and I'm guessing most people don't. Video_disable_composition = "true" - should disable some background activities and further reduce lag Talking more constructively, do you have any comments to these two tweaks, that I also run a bit "blindly"? worse, a subset of games that previously worked smoothly will then not. there are games that slow down at stock settings, and these will only be exacerbated with these aggressive input lag tweaks. my problem with them is that retropie on a raspberry pi 3 has very little headroom. It's possible that you can enable some or even all of these tweaks for certain emulators/games and have no adverse effects. I found these tweaks alongside a few others, and instantly got the feeling that the Pi performed way better. I'd even say that if it shortens the life of my Pi, I'd still apply them. Don't get me wrong, it's great work you've done, but I really have experienced a significant boost in regards to input lag by applying 3 of your DON'T-DO's. After making the necessary changes, the issues with your mouse will be resolved.I'm bummed out. Keep in mind that you need to repeat these steps for all USB Hub devices on your PC. When Properties window opens, go to Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Go to Device Manager and double click USB Hub device to open its properties. However, you should be able to fix the problem by doing the following: Solution 14 – Change Power management optionsĪccording to users, mouse lag can sometimes occur due to your Power management settings. There are many things that can cause mouse lag, I was about to suggest a few things but I googled it to see if someone already had.they did!

Some games that are basically a microstutter fest on w7 (H1Z1 ), are super smooth on w10.Ĭlick to expand. It may not help your situation but IMO it's a much better Windows 10, I feel like I'm using 7 again. My firestrike score is higher on w10, almost 500 points more on the graphics card. However EHCI-hand off is disabled in my bios, so the OS should manage the usb 2.0 ports.ĮDIT: I almost forgot -> my system isn't OC'ed and every game runs smoother on w10. So in theory the OS should not influence my mouse. The strange part is that I am actually playing only games that should use rawinput (csgo, pubg, quake champions, etc.). I have tried multiple mice but the problem persists.

I am running a Broadwell-E cpu, x99 strix with the latest BIOS (1801), 16 gb ram (qc), GTX 1080 and a Sound Blaster Z. I disabled EPP, fast boot, game mode, game dvr and ticked the "disable fullscreen optimization" in my game's exe. I used media creation tool to create a bootable usb and I installed w10 in legacy mode (not UEFI, I dont think it makes a difference).
Reduce input lag h1z1 1080p#
Except few people, noone is having problems with W10 and laggy mouse, so I would like to understand what is my problem because i think it's time to upgrade, 2020 is really close (and I like to watch netflix in 1080p ). but no, today after 2 games (where I overshooted like crazy because my mouse wasn't sluggish anymore) my aim was back. I thought it was placebo, I had to adapt etc. Too bad after 2 months of 1709 I had to go back to W7. For example I have to set my plan on high performance everytime I play an old game, like cs go, otherwise my game stutters like crazy because my cores keep downclocking.

It has a lot of new features I use and it's easier to do stuff, plus my hardware is not optimized for windows 7.
